Fantastical Calendar App Reviews

Better than Apples

I love this app! This takes Apples calendar app and raises it a bunch of features, not to mention, it looks so much better than the native app. The ability to look at all of my upcoming events and scroll through them at ease while still being able to glance at a monthly calendar is key. The Apple Watch version is better than the native app too, hands down. No better calendar app!

Simple and intuitive

Have been using fantastical for almost 2 years. I love the separate color-coded calendars so I can easily track work obligations, personal schedule, and times when other family or employees are busy. Easily/automatically integrates with my outlook calendar from work, so my ever changing schedule is kept up to date. I doubt Im using all its capabilities..but its perfect for what I need, and when I take time to explore theres new time savers to learn!

Can Only See One Line of Text for Each Entry

This is a great app for calendaring and task management, with one exception, which, unfortunately reduces this otherwise 5 star app to a 3 star app (at least for me). Many of my reminders and calendar items exceed one line. Fantastical only allows me to view one line of each calendar entry/task item in the list view and the calendar view. This is a HUGE problem as it leaves me unable to view very important information. It also renders the quick list view and calendar view rather useless, as I have to click each item individually in order to view the entire text of the entry in another screen. I really wish this werent the case, as this is the only app that I have found that syncs with my all the calendars and reminders on my iPhone, regardless of the source (my outlook calendar for work is protected and does not sync to my iCloud, so apps that only allow me to integrate my iCloud calendar and tasks are useless).

Truly the best

The new fantastical really is the app I use the most on my iPhone. Its by far the most functional app I own. A truly great product from a truly great developer.

Almost perfect!

Almost perfect! The only thing that I would like is a full month View option like in the Mac version

Huge disappointment.

Unreliable. Slow. Inconsistent. Sometimes doesnt load at all. I was so excited after reading the reviews. If you were planning to use this as a conduit to enter information into your calendar using your Apple Watch, think again. Not dependable at all.

Wow!

Ive been considering forking over the five bucks for this app for the past month or so after hearing consistent rave reviews across the board. I thought... The native calendar app works fine for me, what could this possibly do to make it the price of a Double Double and fries from In n Out?! Well, I LOVE everything about the interface and how I can scroll through my appointments with the week-view scrolling along with me. I LOVE how easy it is to switch from that view to the month view. I LOVE having a full month calendar in my pull-down "Today" screen from the lockscreen. I LOVE having my reminders and calendar in one app. Thats just the start of it. There are so many awesome intuitive features here to make it well worth $4.99!

Reminds are broken

Normally Id give this app 5 stars but this last iteration has a serious bug with reminders. It keeps recalling finished reminders. And if you make a reminder for one day and time then try and change it, itll revert back over and over. Very annoying. Please fix. The integration of reminders and calendar was the big selling point.

A most excellent calendar & reminders app!

None better. Great for all your calendar needs and for integration of reminders right into the same app! Love it! Also have it for my Mac. BUT ... Sometimes sync breaks down and calendar does not update with Google Cal. VERY frustrating.

Great calendar app!

If you dont have this app then you are missing out on one of the best calendar apps out today! Well worth the money for mobile and desktop version.

Suddenly stopped working

It is a great app. But recently it has started freezing up a lot. Eventually it works, but entries are often followed by 60 seconds of frozen app screen.

Dont buy this if you expect apple watch compatability

The iPhone app is pretty good, it could use a few additional views to make it better. But dont buy this if you expect it to work on an apple watch. I did, and it doesnt. The app is there on the watch, but there are no synchronised events or reminders. When I contacted customer support about the issue, they said its a known bug and the problem lies with the apple watch OS. It wont get fixed until apple updates their software. OK, I can understand that issues like this can happen but the vendor should not be claiming it has apple watch support when it clearly is not functional. I dont care whos at fault, I just know I have a paid app that doesnt work.

Another $9.99 for iPad? - Deleted

Bought the iPhone calendar. Went to download for my iPad and you want another $9.99? This kind of greed gets you a bad review. Writing this app off - deleted!

Love the settings

This company has some winning aspects and some good, but for this app they rock. I love the settings. You can choose to open up the event calendar map, with Google maps.

. . .

Initially, this app (recommended by my son) looked like a perfect solution for calendaring on iOS, so it is on both my phone and pad. After using it extensively for several months, however, I keep stumbling over one very big block and a couple of smaller ones (like: where is the technical support for this paid-for app??). The BIG bugaboo for me is the thinly veiled complete lack of proper support for time zones! When creating a new event, the GUI allows you to choose a time zone for the event, but if the chosen time zone matches the default time zone for the iOS device, that information apparently is NOT saved - wow, really? This is a problem for shared calendars where the people sharing the calendar are not all in the same time zone. When someone opens an event that was created as described above, it would appear that the events time is shown for THEIR local time zone, not the time zone that was properly chosen when the event was created. Imagine the chaos, for example, for a flight crew member that crosses time zones, back and forth, all day, trying to use this fiasco as a guide to the days details! It just doesnt work, unless someone with access to BigG Calendar IN A WEB BROWSER or another tool can fix the errantly saved event by adding the proper time zone information. But, if that step is required for every event (were talking about dozens every day!) created in Fantastical 2 for iPxxx, whats the point of using it to create any events in the first place? ahh hem . . .

Overrated, but Works Fine

Its fine, a little expensive and overhyped. Pros: - Natural text entry works like a charm. - Efficient integration of tasks into calendar view. Cons: - Syncing between Exchange and devices is not 100% reliable. I have to manually reconcile calendars ever week or so to make sure everything shows up. - Views and style is just OK. Not much different than stock Apple Calendar. A year view would be helpful.

Excellent app - does what it says!

Excellent app - does what it says!

Mr

It was ok until I realized it did not save everything. Still needs some work. Not as simple as it should be.

This is the best app on my iPhone

Seriously, the most powerful app I use every day. Couldnt recommend it more highly to people who are trying to stay productive and use their calendar to its most potential. So awesome with the Mac application as well.

De gustibus non disputandum...maybe

Hard to see why anyone likes this app: Jarring aesthetically, even in light theme. Non-existent monthly views. Useless bars on weekly view. Multi-stepped, unintuitive and laborious to use. Empty days in list not showing means lack of clarity. Watch app way too busy.
